Deroose Plants originated in Belgium and has since expanded its operations to China and the United States.

Deroose plants has become a global supplier of young plant material for growers and plantation owners, growing 18 million young plants in the US alone.

Pieter Mertens, operation manager at the Deroose Plants location in Apopka, Florida, explains how they enhanced productivity using two FlexSorter machines from TTA-ISO. Because grading the quality of young plants is labor-intensive, they needed a machine to do so, and the FlexSorter was a perfect fit. He explains how quickly the machine was ready for use, how easy it was to operate, and how they experienced the advantages almost instantly, which is why the decision to get a second machine was made reasonably quickly.

“Currently, we’re running on two machines. We got the first machine in January 2023, and almost right away, we saw its advantages. So, half a year later, we got the second machine. In the beginning, it looked kind of daunting, but very fast the operators felt comfortable.”
